Getting Started

Q: How do I register my organization on Acalumi? Visit the registration page, fill in your organization details (name, subdomain) and admin account information, then submit. Your application is reviewed within 24-48 hours. See Register Your Organization.

Q: How long does approval take? Typically 24-48 hours. You will receive an email when your organization is approved.

Q: What is a subdomain? Your subdomain is your unique portal URL. For example, if your subdomain is green-valley, your portal is at green-valley.acalumi.com. Choose something short and memorable.

Q: Can I change my subdomain later? Contact support to request a subdomain change. This affects all user bookmarks and URLs.

Accounts & Login

Q: How do users log in? Users navigate to your organization's portal URL (e.g., your-school.acalumi.com) and enter their email/login ID and password. Google sign-in is also available if configured.

Q: I forgot my password. What do I do? Click "Forgot password?" on the login page. A reset link will be sent to your email.

Q: Can students use a login ID instead of email? Yes. Students can log in with their institutional ID (e.g., STU20250001) in addition to their email.

Q: What browsers are supported? Acalumi works on all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. We recommend using the latest version for the best experience.

Organization & Branches

Q: What is the difference between an organization and a branch? An organization is your institution as a whole. Branches are individual campuses or locations within your organization. A single-school has one branch; a multi-campus institution has multiple.

Q: Can I manage multiple campuses? Yes, on the Growth tier and above. You can create up to 5 branches on Growth and up to 100 on Scale.

Q: Is the question bank shared across branches? Yes. Questions in the question bank are organization-wide and available to all branches.

Exams

Q: What question types are available? Seven types: MCQ, True/False, Fill-in-Blanks, Essay, Matching, Matrix, and Hotspot. All question types are available on every plan.

Q: Which questions are auto-graded? MCQ, True/False, Fill-in-Blanks, Matching, Matrix, and Hotspot are auto-graded. Essay questions require manual grading.

Q: Can students retake an exam? Yes, if the exam is configured with more than 1 maximum attempt. The teacher sets this in the exam settings.

Q: What happens if a student's browser closes during an exam? Answers are auto-saved as the student progresses. They can resume the exam by logging back in and clicking "Resume" on the exam.

Pricing

Q: Is there a free plan? No. Every plan starts with a free trial of that plan's features; after the trial a paid subscription is required to keep using Acalumi.

Q: Can I upgrade my plan at any time? Yes. Go to Settings > Subscription & Billing to view plans and upgrade. Plan changes take effect immediately.

Q: What are addons? Premium feature modules (like Proctoring or advanced messaging packs) that can be added to any paid plan for an additional fee.
